Admittedly, my shows are not all that visually exciting. I’ve made a few attempts at VJ-esque visuals (made with the GB Pocket Camera via Super Gameboy), or projecting the CD+G version of “on the 1’s and 0’s”. A few months back, I read about the “censtron wave vessel“, an oscilloscope made from an old TV.
I made a few attempts to do this mod, and had less-than-positive results. Unfortunately, the guy running the site wasn’t so helpful (never responded to emails). I spent some time googling, and I found this page. I’d definitely recommend this method over the other, since it works, and it works on a variety of TVs, and even on old computer monitors.

For this project, I modded a 4.5 inch B+W TV, using the “rotated-yolk” method. In order do get suitable amplitude modulation, a loud signal is needed. I didn’t want to make an amp, so I located the audio amp on the TV circuit board, and wired an input jack, and wired the output to the TV tube. I picked up a cheap B+W mini video camera, and threw it into a box.
